Mazarine 3

Mazarine 3 in the 6th arrondissement

After endless trips to France to meet the needs of discerning customers for her antique businesses in Atlanta and Birmingham, the owner of this apartment finally decided to invest in her own home away from home.

Fortunately for her (and us!) we'd teamed up before on many of those trips to France in search of antique gems, so it wasn't long before the right apartment was located and bought! The building dates from the 17th century. It's tall ceilings reveal massive wooden beams and its structural limestone walls have been exposed in the kitchen. The original tomette tiles are hexagonal in shape, recalling France herself, whose countrymen affectionately call her the hexagone.

Working together to remodel and furnish this home away from home, we sought to create a presence and atmosphere which captured and juxtaposed both an in-depth knowledge of French antiques with a sense of Southern tranquility.

A functioning fireplace framed by a wall of attractive cabinetry enhance the old world atmosphere, while the fresh egyptian linens (exquisitely monogrammed by the owner herself), quality appliances and of course, cable television, telephone and high speed internet connection remind you you're in the 20th century and glad to be here. The bathroom adjoining the bedroom is impeccable.

Like our other apartments on rue Mazarine, this one is set near museums and amidst the throbbing markets, restaurants and cafés near the Odéon metro, the central meeting point for a night out at art gallery openings or the cinema in the historical center of the Left Bank. The latest addition to our group of Paris rentals, it is now available for reservations, and feedback is beginning to roll in…

"I know it is a bit late but I wanted to thank you for the lovely apartment at 72 Rue Mazarine which we rented in January. It truly was a wonderful experience and the comforts of home were really built into that apartment. The comfy sheets, the plush towels and the French ambiance were truly enjoyed. Please, if you can let me know where you purchased those large plush towels--they were terrific.
Again many thanks and hoping to do business with you in the future."

The location was fantastic! The people in the neighborhood were nice enough, although I found many Parisians to be an unhappy sort. (No offense, I know it is your adopted home.)

You could not ask for a place that was closer to the subway, groceries, fresh flowers, music, etc. We did not have enough time in Paris to do all of the things on our itinerary, but we had a marvelous week, and a lot of that was due to having a great place to lay our heads at night. Thanks very much for everything, and we will all be recommending your company to our friends.

I am sorry for the delay in writing to thank you for making my stay at Mazarine 3 such a wonderful experience.  The apartment was perfect - I particularly liked the well appointed kitchen.  The service provided by your agency was outstanding.  The cleaning crew did an excellent job and I greatly appreciated the assitance with my bags, both at the beginning of the trip and at the end (they were waiting in my room at American Hospital on return from MRI).  During a dinner with my friend & Paris cooking instructor, Paule Caillat, I mentioned Porter Scott's professional and courteous service.  She advised that she is acquainted with Mr. Scott and was "not surprised" to hear that I was pleased.  (I've come to regard "not surprised" or "pas mal" as high praise from the French).
