Commerce 1
Shopping...
The very word melts in the mouth of every guest to our spacious apartment located just off the Rue de Commerce. At the heart of the 15th arrondisement, the Rue de Commerce is the hub of Parisian shopping mania. Patisseries, perfumeries, boutiques, fromageries, jewelers, fruit markets, café’s….the street serves as the life-blood to the inhabitants of this Parisian village not fifteen minutes walk from the Eiffel Tower.
Served by 5 metro lines and 2 bus routes, this bustling ‘quartier,’ home of small museums and discreet architectural gems, is at once detatched yet instantly accessible to all areas of Paris with Garnier’s Opera house, the Arc de Triumph, the Champs Elysses and St. Germain des Pres all being no more than a 15 minute metro ride from home.
Home itself is a jewel. Bright and airy, with the advantage of a street facing salon and a bedroom on an interior courtyard, this beautifully furnished, one bedroom, one bathroom apartment on the third floor of a late nineteenth century building strikes the perfect balance between intimate private dwelling and animated city abode.
Choice paintings, an assortment of traveling chests and a portrait bust animate the large living space which is lit by two full length windows, tastefully decorated with period furniture and Persian carpets. A large sleeper sofa allows for the possibility of a further guest and there is a blow-up mattress if required at the guest's disposal.
The bedroom is located off the hall to the left of a large walk-in ‘dressing.’ It boasts a luxurious queen sized bed and the stylish décor is complimented by a beautiful decorative marble fireplace with mantle-mirror.
Removed from the more typical tourist quarters of the left bank latin quarter, this exquisite flat allows visitors to this area to enjoy a trip to Paris with a difference. Savor a croissant with the local road-workers as they head to work from the corner cafe, pick up the daily newspaper from the newsagents drafty kiosk, enjoy lunch at a local bistrot surrounded by stately French men in suits, overhear conversations between soft-spoken shop assistants and queue for fresh bread at the bakery with mothers and toddlers in prams…
Life at the Commerce apartment is Paris for the ‘gourmande’…it’s proximity to the centre satisfies the hunger for historical Paris while this exquisite village location entertains those curious for something new.
